OPEN SECRET / PRIVACY

A little about
your details.

When you join, Open Secret saves the contact details and answers you choose to share. We use them to decide who to invite to what and to send occasional invitations and updates. Instagram, LinkedIn and the name of whoever sent you our way are optional. Joining does not sign you up for automated texts.

What we keep

Your name, email, city, the interests you pick, optional Instagram and LinkedIn handles, an optional referral name, and a record of your consent. We look at your public profiles only to decide whether to approve you. A referral name is seen only by the Open Secret team. If you arrive through an event link, we save that context too. Joining through a link is not a record of attendance. When you check in at an event, we save your attendance.

How it’s handled

Our website runs on Vercel and stores responses in Neon/Postgres. Resend delivers welcome messages and sign-in links. As you type your city, those letters are sent through our server to Google to suggest matches. We don’t send your name or email with them. Essential HTTP-only cookies keep you signed in and preserve event check-in context. These services process information on our behalf. We don’t sell your details or share them with advertising lists. Short-lived, hashed technical identifiers help protect the forms from spam. Authentication security records may include your IP address and browser information.

Your choice

You can unsubscribe through any invitation email, or reply to an OS email to request access, correction or deletion. We keep your details while you remain on the list, unless you ask us to remove them. Essential security records may be retained where needed.

For privacy questions or to request access, correction or deletion, email contact@synolabs.co.
